Privacy policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

This policy explains what data Pirate Rivals processes, what for, and your rights. It covers the game and this website.

1. Who is responsible

Pirate Rivals is a game by FVC Studios (www.fvcstudios.com), the controller of your data. You can write to us at [email protected].

2. The data we process

  • Your account. A player ID, your pirate name, your country (from your phone's language; you can change it) and when you joined. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, also that account's ID and its email address (if it has one), which they give us when you allow it. We don't keep your real name or your picture.
  • Your game. Level, experience, gunpowder, gold, shields, your ship, your crew, friends, gifts, missions, battles, rankings and trophies.
  • What you write. Your crew's chat messages and the carrier pigeon messages between crews.
  • Your device. The identifier Firebase Cloud Messaging uses to send you notifications, and the game's language. Also the identifier Android gives the game on your phone, stored in a form that can't be recovered, so that each phone counts only once in friend invitations.
  • Technical data. The IP address and connection data kept in the server's logs.
  • How you use the game, only if you agree. Which screens you see and for how long, and moments of the game such as completing a step of the academy, joining a crew, claiming a reward or leveling up. They come with the phone model, the system version, the language and the approximate location (country, region or city, which Google works out from the IP address without keeping it). They are tied to a random identifier of that installation of the game, never to your name, your email or the phone's advertising identifier.
  • Purchases. Once there are purchases, Google Play or, on this website, Stripe will handle them. We never see or store your card details; only what you bought and when.

3. What we use it for

  • So you can play: your account, your game, your crew and the competitions. That's what we agree to in the terms of use.
  • To send you the game's notifications (a battle starting, a gift...), if you allow them on your phone. You choose which ones in the game.
  • To balance the game and build the leagues and matchmaking, from your activity in it (battles, use of resources and purchases). This is based on our legitimate interest in keeping competitions fair.
  • For security: preventing cheating (such as inviting yourself from the same phone), abuse and unauthorized access, also based on our legitimate interest.
  • To answer what you write to us.
  • To learn how the game is played and improve it (which screens work, where people get stuck), with the usage statistics. Only if you agree when the game asks you; you can change it anytime in Settings, under "Help improve the game".

We don't sell your data or use it for personalized advertising.

4. Who else sees it

Only the providers we need to run the game, who process the data on our behalf:

  • OVHcloud: the servers, in the European Union.
  • Cloudflare: the network and protection of the website and the game.
  • Google: sign-in with Google, Firebase Cloud Messaging for notifications, Google Analytics for Firebase for the usage statistics (if you agree), and Google Play.
  • Meta: sign-in with Facebook. The game sends it no data for advertising.
  • Stripe: card payments, once there are any.

Some of them may process data outside the European Economic Area, always with the safeguards the General Data Protection Regulation requires (such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).

Other players see what is public in the game: your pirate name, your ship, your level, your country, your crew, your results and your trophies. Chat messages are seen only by your crew's members.

5. How long we keep it

  • For as long as you have your account.
  • If you delete it, we erase your personal data within 30 days at most. The results of the battles and rankings you took part in are kept in anonymous form, because they are part of other players' games.
  • The server's technical logs, 30 days at most.
  • The usage statistics, 14 months at most. If you turn them off, the game stops measuring and erases that installation's identifier.

6. Your rights

You can ask to access your data, correct or erase it, object to or restrict its processing, and ask for its portability, by writing to [email protected]. To delete your account, follow the steps in Delete account.

If you think we haven't handled your data properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or to the data protection authority where you live.

7. Age

Pirate Rivals is meant for players aged 18 and over.

8. Security

Connections are encrypted, and sessions are stored so that not even a copy of the database would let anyone into your account. Access to the servers is restricted.

9. This website

This website uses no tracking cookies or analytics. Only Cloudflare's technical security cookies may appear.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll publish the changes here and, if a change is important, we'll also let you know in the game.
